I grew up in a tough neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was raised by a single mother who was addicted to drugs, but she knew she wanted something better for me. As the driving force in my life, she never wavered from her commitment to encourage me to excel on and off the football field. Her efforts paid off. With a stand-out senior year, both academically and athletically, a football scholarship was securely under my belt and the sky was the limit. Then, only a month before leaving for college, I received the shock of my life, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Many unforeseen challenges would lie ahead, but with my mother’s love and support and with my hard work and dedication to my health and fitness, I persevered and overcame adversity. I played college football, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Sonoma State University and studied acting.

After graduating from college, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. I’ve appeared in numerous films and tv shows such as: “Ali”, “Pearl Harbor”, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, “Gimme Shelter”, “Alien Hunter,” “Dukes of Hazzard II”, The L Word, The Secret Lives of Second Wives, The District and numerous commercials including Gatorade, Chevrolet and Reebok.

I’ve been living with Diabetes for over 25 years and have made fitness my life. I’m using my story and expertise to motivate and inspire others. I’m also a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, motivational speaker and entrepreneur. I’m committed to helping everyone live a healthy and active lifestyle through our D-FORCE for LIFE program.

I grew up with my family in the San Francisco Bay Area and as a young girl I participated in gymnastics and dancing. With a loved for the outdoors, I soon discovered Soccer, Track & Field and Cross Country Running which would be my focus for the next six years throughout high school. As an athletic girl growing up in the late 70’s and early 80’s, I was allowed the opportunity under Title IX to try out for the Men’s Soccer Team at my high school, earning a spot on the team, I was a major contributor as a starting forward.

There is no doubt that I have always had a competitive and entrepreneurial spirt, at the age of 14 I was the youngest AVON Lady in the country. Loving the art of the sale and being intrigued by genetics, I studied both business and science my first two years of college. Knowing that sitting in a research lab would not be the right choice for me, I proceeded to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from San Diego State University.

Today I live in Los Angeles, I’m a single mother of two children, a daughter 21 and a son 7, both who share my passion for soccer. I coached my daughter’s soccer teams for 5 years and now nine years later I’m doing it all over again, coaching my son’s teams. As a successful entrepreneur and business owner for the past 15 years, I’ve handled international marketing for some of the most recognized global brands. With a shift in my personal goals and a desire to merge my passion for fitness and healthy living; with my marketing expertise, I discovered a new direction. As the Co-Founder of D-FORCE for LIFE and Co-Inventor of the Water Bottle Straps, we are bringing fitness to everyone.

“Motivate and inspire all people to live a healthier lifestyle.”
